Royal Ranger Outpost

Spec Ops is an elite group of Royal Rangers, boys and young men who take the initiative to move forward individually as part of the Ranger team. This takes a commitment to God and boys as we mentor younger Rangers to become the men God wants them to be.

The West Florida Spec Ops offers the following:

A unit  for older boys and young men over 18 to continue with the Ranger ministry and training. A mentorship to help them become the Ranger leaders needed for the next generation.

A mechanism for boys who do not have a local opportunity for Royal Rangers, either through their local church's program choices or lack of outpost. Spec Ops allows a boy to work through a virtual outpost, partnered with an older Ranger who mentors them through face-to-face contact and/or electronic communications.

For Boys

There are currently two levels for Spec Ops.

- Recruits are Ranger boys under 18 in the program and under training and are allowed to participate in certain activities and events. They must have graduated from a Junior Training Camp (JTC).

- Spec Ops is when a boy under 18 graduates from both the Junior Training Camp (JTC) and Advanced Junior Training Camp (AJTC). These boys will be invited to participate in special events and will be used as staff in certain Ranger activities and can volunteer for the District Honor Guard.

For Young Men

- Young men, age 18 and over can join Spec Ops when they complete the Leaders Medal of Achievement (LMA) and become part of the Frontiersman Camping Fellowship (FCF). You will be offered additional opportunities to become part of staff at certain events, work with special projects as directed by the District Commander and work in training.
